The Sweetheart 6-Key and 8 key Wooden Concert Irish Flute is adapted from fine English flutes of the 1800's to be used for Irish performance or re-creation of Victorian-era classical music. Block-mounted sterling-silver keys (Bb, C, G#, F, long F, D#) and rings are influenced by Prowse, and Rudall & Rose.
The embouchure, derived from the Firth-Pond Rudall and Rose Model, and a bore from measurements on several Rudal & Rose style flutes.
Easy to play from low D (or C) to high B (in the 3rd register) with excellent, full tone throughout.
From the tuning slide to the finely crafted African Blackwood, and comfortable keywork, this is an instrument any flutist would delight in.

* NEW* 6 Key
wooden flute - The
two extra keys are the "long F" for the left pinkie finger: this
key makes the shift from D to F nat. much smoother. The other
is the C natural key for the right hand index finger which gives
a better intonation for that note, in both octaves, besides
giving easier finger patterns for certain tunes.
Both keyed flute models shown here have a bore and embouchure design based on the Boosey-Pratten "Perfected" model of 1862
Our 4 Key wooden flute has keys for G#, F, D#, Bb and comes in 3 sections
