Tabor pipes are instruments with 3 holes, to be played with one hand
while beating a small drum (the tabor) with the other. By using
overtones, a scale of an octave and a half is possible. Very
popular all over Europe in Shakespeare's time, they are used in England
for Morris dancing, and in the Basque provinces of Spain ("txistu"
and "txirula") and France ("galoubet").
We stock the Generation brass pipes in high D, and Susato high
and low D pipes. Other keys are available, contact
us.
